Lovely Printed Tiles

Our latest remodel addressed a 7500 Sq Ft, very outdated, and overly busy Tuscan home. The homeowners wanted an update, while bring in some much needed simplicity. Our challenge was marrying their two very different styles into one – contemporary and elegant. Don’t miss all the amazing before and afters found in the link below!

In this article wanted to share two rooms; the master bath & upstairs guest bath, along with the rest of the house underwent a huge transformation. Not only because they these rooms came out amazing, but the choice of materials gave these spaces such a unique feel. Choosing the right materials for a space really sets the overall tone, which is why this process is so important.

I had a particular vision in mind for the master bath. I spent time scouring a variety of mosaics and water-jet patterns, but nothing felt right until I came across these lovely printed limestone tiles. They encapsulated everything I had envisioned, a beautiful handmade look, while adding a touch of elegance.

Limestone is so versatile and one of my favorite materials. It will work with most any style and is very cost effective. We chose to go with a 12×24 limestone field tile and even incorporated rough cut limestone veneer for select walls throughout the home.

To prevent the master bathroom from feeling overwhelming again, we decide to use the printed black tile only in key areas. We installed the 12×12 decorative tiles in front of the double vanity, creating a carpet insert with a black marble border. The rest of the floor was set with our field tile. The same decorative tile, in a 6×6, was carried over to the wet room shower bench face and niche inserts.

This bathroom came out beautiful and very unique. It carries with it a timeless feel, with both a boldness and softness that work magically together. I’m in love!

We were having so much fun with these printed limestone tiles that we decided to used a multi-colored version for the feature shower wall in the upstairs guest bath along with a coordinating mosaic for the shower floor.

As you can see in the before pictures below, half of the shower was enclosed by a wall, making it stuffy and dark. By removing the wall and adding a glass enclosure, we were able to showcase this tile and let the light in. Using unique materials really adds life and character to a space.

Drop us a note and say, “hello”…
