An EvenIng with World-Renowned Photographer, David Yarrow

I had the incredible honor of spending an evening with world-renowned fine art photographer and author, David Yarrow. From the moment we met, it was clear that David is not only an exceptional artist but also a passionate storyteller. His devotion to his craft and conservation efforts is clearly visible. The subjects of his photography span a diverse range—sports stars, iconic models, wildlife, indigenous communities, and stunning landscapes—but it’s the way he captures them that truly left an impression on me.

David’s work is so much more than photography. It’s about finding the heart of a moment, a place, or a being. His images are raw, intimate, and often breathtaking in their ability to evoke emotion. Listening to him share stories about the lengths he’s gone to for some of his most iconic shots—from the depths of the wild to the far corners of the earth—I was struck by his dedication and love for what he does. His close-up encounters with some of the world’s most dangerous wildlife in remote locations were awe-inspiring.

It’s also deeply admirable how his art goes hand in hand with philanthropy. His collaborations with Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, and Erling Haaland have raised millions for conservation efforts. His role as an ambassador for WildArk, his advisory position with Tusk, and his work with the Kevin Richardson Foundation show his unwavering commitment to the causes he cares about.

Beyond the photography, the evening was filled with genuine, inspiring conversations. We capped off the night with an unforgettable dinner alongside some truly amazing individuals. I had the pleasure of sitting with Mike Wolfe—America’s favorite picker—and his girlfriend Leticia Cline, along with Mary Bono and her husband, former NASA astronaut Stephen Oswald. We were also joined by National Geographic photographers and other supporters and collectors. The company was as humbling as it was inspiring. Hearing their stories and learning about the meaningful work they’ve all contributed to this world left me feeling incredibly fortunate.

It was one of those evenings that remind you of the power of passion, creativity, and purpose, and how blessed I am to have shared it with such talented and down-to-earth people. Their stories, and the positive marks they’ve made in the world, left a lasting impact on me.
